07 Dec 2011 - GLEN Welcomes Secretary Clinton’s Strong Commitment to Global LGBT Rights

Today 10th December, International Human Rights Day, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton made a very strong speech at the UN in Geneva calling for ‘a global consensus that recognises the human rights of LGBT [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender] citizens everywhere'.

Ireland's Tanaiste and Foreign Minister, Eamonn Gilmore TD, released a statement to mark International Huma Rights Day, in which he recognises the importance of the historic importance of the UN resolution on Human Rights, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity passed this year, which Ireland co-sponsored.
