Liaison Officers:

To ensure the delivery of an effective service to LGBT people, the Gardaí have LGBT liaison officers who have been trained on issues relating to LGBT people and are there to give advice and assistance in the event of you having difficulty reporting a crime. You will find a list of Garda Liaison Officers here.

G-Force - the Garda LGBT employee reource group, have recently provided a two day European Gay Police Association 'LGBT Aware' training programme to a number of Gardaí in Dublin, Cork, Louth and Kildare on Supporting LGBT Communities. Outhouse LGBT Community Centre: Since the launch of the LGBT Liaison Officers in 2006, the Centre hosts twice monthly drop-in clinics for memebrs of the community who wish to speak with Community Garda who offer confidential advice and assistance. Find more information here.

LGBT Helpline - The LGBT Helpline is a non-judgmental and confidential service providing listening, support and information to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, their family and friends. Call them in confidence - 1890 929 539 - 7 days a week. www.lgbt.ie

Gay Switchboard Ireland – Gay Switchboard Ireland is  an LGBT support service and is open 7 days a week. Their volunteers are trained to offer confident support signposting and information. Call them in confidence – 01 872 1055. www.gayswitchboard.ie

Dublin Lesbian Line - Dublin Lesbian Line is a confidential support helpline, operated by female-identified (LGBTQ) volunteers, dedicated to providing rather excellent telephone support to the LGBTQ community.
